Wow! This site came from Heaven: Kyle Hammond's Mac Toolbox Programming Page

"June 30, 2003 - Serial port code - Mac OS/Win32
July 11, 2001 - Serial port test project - Mac OS
May 4, 2001 - The A List - Mac OS
Jan 26, 2001 - ZoomBox CDEF - Mac OS
Jan 18, 2001 - Programming Tips - Mac OS
February 13, 2000 - EditTextCntlExtras.c - Mac OS
November 20, 1999 - GetMultiple.c - Mac OS
July 13, 1999 - CreateTempFile.c - Mac OS"

" spiffy List Manager replacement that can handle more than 32K of
data ... A function to create a temporary file on the same volume ... A
collection of functions to help with Appearance Manager editable text
controls. These functions handle the Edit menu functions cut, copy, paste,
clear and select all ... Request multiple files at once ala CustomGetFile( )
... one class uses the classic serial driver (not available on Carbon), and
the last class uses the IOKit and Posix termios API ... A control that looks
like the standard System 7 window zoom box ..."

Posted here as a some kind of joke: Ever Use A Code Sample From a
Book or Dev Guide That Didn't Work?

"If you’re fortunate, it’s just a missing semi-colon or other typo that’s easy
to find, easy to fix."

adc - TN2155 - Saving Printer Settings for Automatic Printing

"Typically you do not need to know the Printer ID to print. However in some
limited situations it makes sense to save the selected printer and automati-
cally use it when needed (for example to print receipts for a point-of-sale
application). The Printer ID provides the necessary persistent reference,
since you cannot save a PMPrinter to your preferences. So using a Printer
ID you can save a reference to a print queue that is valid for the life of that
print queue."

A Mutable Log - Access USB device on Mac OS X using I/O Kit

"This post shows how you can access a USB device from user space on Mac
OS X. I used Xcode 4.3.2 on Mac OS X Lion (10.7.3) for testing the code.

Apple provides the USB Device Interface Guide that shows how USB devices
can be accessed from user space. The book OS X and iOS Kernel Programming
is also very helpful, see Chapter 15 - User-Space USB Drivers."
