gtk+f - Transparent image?

"I'd like to create a button consisting of an image and it should become
transparent on mouse-over.

Unfortunately I have no idea how to create a transparent image!"

gtk+f - Mouse control

"About pixel's color recognition, I saw a program, gcolor2 that uses gtk's
color chooser to select any color from the screen.. but I don't know if it
could do it without clicking.."
