Viewing video in a HIView
"I´m viewing video from a webcam in a normal window via a SGChannel
and so on in Carbon. I want to represent it in a HIView control because I
need to change size (live resizing) as the user changes the windows size" |

MacTech: QuickTime Toolkit, by Tim Monroe
"We began this series of articles by developing a simple C-based application
called QTShell that runs on both Windows and Macintosh operating systems.
QTShell can open and display QuickTime movies, and it supports the standard
movie editing operations." |

Everything you ever wanted to know about video codecs
"All codecs (a contraction of code/decode), whether they be for video, audio
or some other type of data, exist to change a long bit series into a shorter
bit series and back again, or at least into something that closely resembles
the original. This magic process is called ‘compression’ (or ‘decompression’
in the latter case)." |
