nyt - Conquest Is for Losers
"And so they viewed Russian adventurism with admiration and envy. They
may have claimed to be alarmed by Russian advances, to believe that Mr.
Putin, “what you call a leader,” was playing chess to President Obama’s
marbles. But what really bothered them was that Mr. Putin was living the
life they’d always imagined for themselves." |

r - The Prince by Machiavelli - Why It Is Still So Relevant Today
"It must be considered that there is nothing more difficult to carry out nor
more doubtful of success nor more dangerous to handle than to initiate a
new system; for the reformer has enemies in all those who profit by the old
system, and only lukewarm defenders in all those who would profit by the
new system; this lukewarmness arising partly from the incredulity of man-
kind who does not truly believe in anything new until they actually have
experience of it." |

r - Where does Sun Tzu actually state that wars have to be won in temples first?
"Now going back to OP's question: Sun Tzu was saying a general should plan a
battle militarily, politically, and diplomatically, in order to win the battle.

class here in the States. Helped the author of a fairly popular college textbook

youtube - Billion Dollar Base: Army Base in Afghanistan | Free Documentary
"Billion Dollar Base: Dismantling Camp Bastion tells the story of the team
dismantling the British Army base in Afghanistan. For eight years it's been the
powerhouse of UK and US military operations. Now Britain's biggest overseas
base since World War II is closing down for good. This documentary was given
exclusive access to the men and women whose job it was to pack up this giant
jigsaw puzzle, ending one of the longest wars in British history" |

t - A young Russian contractor's experience of 1 month of war in Ukraine
"I personally did not know how to insert the machine gun belt in. I just knew
how to take it off the safety and shoot. The guy said he had no idea and that
they told him in his unit (in Valuyki) that he would be a driver. I called our
starshina. He tried to send the round into the barrel but failed. The machine
gun jammed. Then our senior praporshik came, who fought in Chechnya. It
took him two minutes to load the machine gun. He did it. That's how this
attack was prepared." |

YT - General Wilhelm Mohnke - Downfall
"Mr Minister, the Russians are shooting your Men from the Volkssturm down
like rabbits. They have neither experience in urban warfare nor suitable
weapons.
What these men lack in fighting experience they will compensate
with their fiery unconditional belief in the final victory.
Herr Minister, if you can't arm these men, then they can't fight, they die
pointless.
I can't feel compassion for them, i repeat, i can't feel compassion for them,
the people chose this fate themselves, that may be a surprise for some
people, don't give yourself to illusions, we did not force the german people,
they appointed us themselves, now their little throats will get cut through
for it"
"Wilhelm Mohnke lived until 2001, he was one of the last living generals of
World War II.
Somewhat unnerving how this minister went from 'please take care of my
family' to 'some of them may die, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make'
Goebbels, arrogant and smiling at the fate of the German people. He's saying
'you got yourselves into this by getting us into power'." |

Nadin Brzezinski - It's Starting, the Economic Collapse of Russia
"They will also soften some prison sentences because the prison colonies are
a possible source of riots, once conditions worsen. This is reading increasingly
like the conditions that led to 1917. If there is something Vladimir Putin and
the elite fear is a color revolution, or worse, a 1917 type of event." |
