medium.com - The Current State of Machine Intelligence
"I spent the last three months learning about every artificial intelligence,
machine learning, or data related startup I could find — my current list has
2,529 of them to be exact. Yes, I should find better things to do with my
evenings and weekends but until then..." |

venturebeat - Microsoft researchers say their newest deep
learning system beats humans — and Google
"The Microsoft creation got a 4.94 percent error rate for the correct
classification of images in the 2012 version of the widely recognized
ImageNet data set , compared with a 5.1 percent error rate among
humans, according to the paper. The challenge involved identifying
objects in the images and then correctly selecting the most accurate
categories for the images, out of 1,000 options. Categories included
“hatchet,” “geyser,” and “microwave.”" |

pm - Google's Atari-Playing Algorithm Could Be the Future of AI
"..., it wasn't even designed to take on old video games; it is general-
purpose, self-teaching computer program. Yet after watching the Atari
screen and fiddling with the controls over two weeks, DQN is playing at
a level that would humiliate even a professional flesh-and-blood gamer.

techcrunch - Apple's AI if by Air
"Pairing the AirPods is incredibly easy, thanks to the W1 chip. The method
is so easy in fact that Apple does not use the word pairing anywhere in its
instruction manual - using the word 'connect' instead. It's marketing, but it's
also a fair differentiation between the baroque drama that is most Bluetooth
pairing sessions and the process of connecting AirPods." |
