FTP source code
"You can try Connection Kit:
http://opensource.utr-software.com/connection/
I used it myself last year for an FTP application. At the time I used it
not all the of the protocols the framework supports would compile
cleanly on 10.4/universal (I can't remember the exact problems) but FTP
worked just fine." |

InsanelyMac: The X Labs
"Welcome to 'The X Labs' - a haven for developers and place to make
your life a whole lot easier.
We've talked with a lot of driver and utility developers on this forum who
have told us several things that would make their lives a lot easier. First,
they need a place to get feedback. Secondly, many have asked for an easy
way to notify users of updates. Finally, they've told us that they need an
easy way to involve the community either in bug reporting or open source
development." |

Gimpshop!
"Gimpshop 2.2.11 Universal App for OS X 10.3/10.4 Tiger (Intel & PPC) and
Gimpshop 2.2.11 source for developers is now available. More operating
systems to be supported soon (hopefully).
Gimpshop 2.2.11 deb package for Ubuntu Linux (Thanks giuliastro!) Runs
great on my Ubuntu Parallels install.
In OS X, you will also need X11 or XDarwin in order to launch and run
Gimpshop. I recommend you install X11 from your OS X Tiger Install DVD." |

Slashdot: Google Gets Serious About Open Source Mac Projects
"In the '20 percent time' that Google employees have to work on projects of
personal interest, it turns out that an increasing number are spending time
writing open-source projects for their Macs. Google has long had a fondness
for the Mac, with upwards of 6,000 of its 20,000 current employees opting to
use the Mac over Windows. It is in the 20 percent employee development
time, however, where this statistic becomes interesting.
At Google, development time translates into products. The more Mac-friendly
employees, the more Mac-related development. The more Mac-related deve-
lopment, the more Google-sponsored Mac-based open-source code. As Goog-
le's Mac Developer Playground demonstrates, some of this code is quite
interesting." |
