Comparative iPhone review, tested vs Treo, BlackBerry, N95, Ocean, LG Prada
"The iPhone may have been hyped beyond belief, but we've found through
scientific testing that some of the hype is warranted. In our lab testing, the
iPhone beat out most phones for audio quality, but the iPhone's camera left
much to be desired. Read on for the full results, and see how it stacks up vs
the Nokia N95, Treo 750, Helio Ocean, and more." |

Why You Don't Want an iPhone -- Yet
"Let me start by saying up front that I am a fan of the iPhone.
So you might be more than a little concerned, as I am, that the iPhone
only supports EDGE data connections-- and doesn't support 3G data
connections at all!
I'm no Walt Mossberg. It's not my goal to crush anyone's dreams of
owning their first iPhone. I know you've heard this a million times, but
never, never has it been more true for any technology product: wait
for version 2.0 before buying." |

Stephen Colbert reviews the iPhone
"Seems that everybody in the press has received a free iPhone for review.
Except Stephen. But that will not keep him from reviewing it!" |

The iPhone scorecard
"The first four hands-on reviews of Apple's new wonderphone came out
yesterday. The critical consensus? Buy the amazing device, if you can
afford it. We gave scores out of ten -- in ten categories." |

Apple iPhone Cell Phone Review - Audio Quality
"To test the audio quality of calls made with the iPhone we use professional
testing equipment; a HATS (Head and Torso Simulator) that simulates the human
head and ear and an electro-acoustic analysis program called SoundCheck" |

Digg: iPhone Buyers Have No Regrets..."Overwhelmingly Happy"
"Early iPhone owners are overwhelmingly happy with their devices... In one
of the first such studies, 90% of 200 owners said they were "extremely" or
"very" satisfied with their phone. And 85% said they are "extremely" or "very"
likely to recommend the device to others" |

CW: The iPhone at two months: It's all about the interface
"After spending time with the iPhone, I've run into many more "ah-ha!" moments -- where
the interaction surprises you with its intuitiveness -- than those "oh no" moments where the
user interface falls short.
The beauty of the iPhone's design is that these interface quirks can be fixed because the entire
interaction is based on a touch screen. When users call out these details to Apple, Apple can do
something about them." |

NYT: Google Sees Surge in iPhone Traffic
"On Christmas, traffic to Google from iPhones surged, surpassing incoming
traffic from any other type of mobile device, according to internal Google
data made available to The New York Times.
The data is striking because the iPhone, an Apple product, accounts for just 2
percent of smartphones worldwide, according to IDC, a market research firm." |

Slashdot - T-Mobile G1 Faster Than iPhone 3G
"CNET UK have run some very simple in-house tests comparing the T-Mobile
G1's 3G connection against the iPhone 3G's. Result? The G1 loaded Web pages
almost twice as fast as the iPhone's. Of course, the test only applies to the CNET
UK offices if you're being scientific about it, as stated, but it's still impressive
nevertheless." |

Jeff Atwood - Welcome to the Post PC Era
"But the primary wake up call, at least for me, is that the new iPad finally
delivered an innovation that general purpose computing has been waiting
on for thirty years: a truly high resolution display at a reasonable size and
price. In 2007 I asked where all the high resolution displays were. Turns
out, they're only on phones and tablets." |
