Digg: Compile WINE on Mac OS X Tiger
"Things are much less complex now, thanks to the moving to the Intel CPUs.
At the core, a Mac is binary wise compatible with a PC running Windows. All
you need to run (most) Windows applications on a Mac OS is WINE."
...
"I've been using Darwine for a long time. It works with more things than you
would imagine. The latest build requires an Intel Mac, contrary to the article." |

uf: What would happen if you ran a windows virus using Wine?
"This is a bit of an idle question, but I've been recieving some windows viruses
through my email the last week or so, and I have them all lined up on my
desktop like trophies, all decorated with emblems to make them look pretty,
when it occured to me that they might actually do something if I ran them in
Wine. Would anything happen do you think?" |

Slashdot: CodeWeavers Package Google Chrome For Linux and Mac
"The fine folks at Codeweavers performed an 11 day experiment in getting
Google Chrome working on Linux and Mac. Their efforts resulted in the Chro-
mium proof of concept. 'Not only does this give Mac and Linux users a chance
to see what all the hype is about, it also lets the world see just how far Wine
has come and how powerful it truly can be. In just 11 days, we were able to
bring a modern Windows application across to Mac and Linux.' Caveat: their
implementation is free as in beer but not free as in speech." |
