Fury as academics claim 9/11 was 'inside job'
"... leading scientists say the facts of their investigations cannot be
ignored and say they have evidence that points to one of the biggest
conspiracies ever perpetrated." |

NY Times: Pirates of the Mediterranean, Ancient Rome's 9/11
"IN the autumn of 68 B.C. the world’s only military superpower was
dealt a profound psychological blow by a daring terrorist attack on its
very heart. Rome’s port at Ostia was set on fire, the consular war fleet
destroyed, and two prominent senators, together with their bodyguards
and staff, kidnapped." |

Russian Pilot Making Photos 9/11 Flying Above NYC
"Here is a shocking story of Russian pilot, now living in the USA who was
on the air 9th September 2001 and have made photos right from the air
when planes crashed the WTC." |

Yahoo News: Illnesses rise amid ground zero debate
"After five years, doctors have definitively established a link between work
at ground zero and chronic respiratory illness; a study published last fall by
the largest monitoring program for post-9/11 workers found nearly 70 %
were likely to have lifelong breathing problems." |

Chicago Reader: Confessions of a Torturer
"They told us in training that 90 percent of prisoners will break on the direct
approach, which is simply asking a direct question—you don’t have to run
an approach. They said if a prisoner doesn’t break you usually have enough
detainees that you can just ignore that person and talk to someone else." |

RollingStone: Beyond Quagmire
"This is a dark chapter in our history. Whatever else happens, our country's
international standing has been frittered away by people who don't have
the foggiest understanding of how the hell the world works. America has
been conducting an experiment for the past six years, trying to validate
the proposition that it really doesn't make any difference who you elect
president. Now we know the result of that experiment [laughs]. If a guy is
stupid, it makes a big difference."
Vanity Fair: The Night of the Generals
"The six retired generals who stepped forward last spring to publicly attack
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's handling of the Iraq war had to
overcome a culture of reticence based on civilian control of the military.
But while each man acted separately, all shared one experience: a growing
outrage over the administration's incompetence, leading some of the nation's
finest soldiers to risk their reputations and cross a time-honored line." |

slate.com - The First Victim of Sept. 11
"But that act of heroism was not the only way Lewin made his presence felt
on that terrible, unique, awful day. In a tragic twist of irony, the algorithms
he helped develop, and the company he co-founded—Akamai Technologies—
helped the Internet survive that day’s crush of traffic— the Web equivalent
of a 100-year flood." |

r - I worked on the 77th floor of World Trade Center Tower 2. AMA
"As the N train approached the Cortlandt St. stop (which was inside the WTC)
the conductor announced that we would be bypassing that stop due to a
'smoky condition'. Several people groaned, but I distinctly remember making
eye contact with the woman in the seat directly across from mine, and our
glance said, "Oh, well. What are you going to do? It could be worse." |
