Colin - 6 Ways to Become a Well-Developed and Attractive Man
"Because techniques, little conversational skills, even body-language, they
are very small parts of building your social life and self-development. And
we need to really understand that, because at the end of the day, being
well-developed isn’t about words or body-language." |

quartz - A philosopher's 350-year-old trick to get people to change
their minds is now backed up by psychologists
"When we wish to correct with advantage, and to show another that he
errs, we must notice from what side he views the matter, for on that side
it is usually true, and admit that truth to him, but reveal to him the side
on which it is false. He is satisfied with that, for he sees that he was not
mistaken, and that he only failed to see all sides. Now, no one is offended
at not seeing everything; but one does not like to be mistaken, and that
perhaps arises from the fact that man naturally cannot see everything, and
that naturally he cannot err in the side he looks at, since the perceptions of
our senses are always true." |

vice - Sex Workers Describe Their First Day on the Job
"The shame and stigma of being a sex worker often outweighs the long-
term benefits of flexible, well-paying work. It is a horrible burden to hide
oneself for fear of judgement. Hiding hurts, but so does telling the truth." |

Even when all teenagers, rich and poor, have equal access to the internet, a digital divide remains in how they use technology. Richer teenagers are more likely to use the internet to search for information or to read news rather than to chat or play video games
"Likewise if she's about to get evicted, but has $0 in the bank, she calls Aunt Judy, or Mom, or somebody, hoping for a place to stay, at least for a little while, just to stay off the street.
Nobody likes to be called up only when you want something from them. So these social ties have to be constantly tended and strengthened, indefinitely, just in case of a someday problem. You never know when you need to beg $100 off someone, so you need to be on good terms long before that ever happens. Most poor people will not be doing this in some scheming way, they only know that you need to stay tight with your friends and family. That's just how life is lived." |

The psychology of punishment is key to why people vote against their own interests
"Donald Trump would not be US president without the votes of many, in-
cluding Obamacare enrollees and immigrants, who are likely to find them-
selves worse off because of his policies. To some Democrat supporters, this
widespread voting against self-interests can seem impossible to understand.
To Molly Crockett, a neuroscientist and experimental psychologist at Oxford
University, it makes perfect sense." |

Bolsonaro was the most rejected candidate in the entire election, but he was said to be "in the lead" throughout, in terms of votes. The two concepts are in contradiction, but nobody seems to see the problem in that. This is enabled by a bad voting system and the political culture it fosters
