Firefox Extension Tutorial
"Firefox extensions are simply extra XUL, CSS, and Javascript files that
sit on top of the default interface and replace or extend its functionality.
Think of these extensions as patches sewn onto a bookbag — a circular
peace sign patch that makes the underlying black vinyl look nicer. Firefox
extensions are additional widgets and functionality that let you give the
browser features it didn't have before. The user interface files for Mozilla
applications are known as chrome, so extensions you load up are just
extending the default chrome." |

Encyclopedia of HTML elements
"HTML is a much richer language than what it’s used for. There are 77
elements and each one has a certain purpose. It is possible to find that
reason by reading the specification, but who does that? I wrote this list as
a way to tell you what I think each of the HTML tags should be used for,
common problems you might encounter, and general advise about each
one." |

Digg: AMAZING AJAX-driven web development reference!
"A must have bookmark for developers doing web development.
Features: * PHP / MySQL / CSS / JS reference * Examples * Search as
you type * Fast results"
Next day, Digg: Flapjax makes AJAX-style development easy
"Flapjax is a new programming language designed around the demands
of modern, client-based Web applications. It's easy to learn and its syntax
is precisely that of JavaScript. Furthermore, because Flapjax is built
entirely atop JavaScript, it runs on traditional Web browsers without the
need for plug-ins or other downloads." |

Why REST Failed
"Representational State Transfer (REST) is the explicit architecture of HTTP
and the World Wide Web. It is a well-designed, well thought out system
that enables scalable applications that service millions of users. It is also
a simpler system that enables developers who understand it to bring
applications to market faster that perform better. Well, actually, no, it’s
not. And therein lies a story.
HTTP is based on four basic operations: GET, PUT, POST, and DELETE." |

Table-Based Layout Is The Next Big Thing
"With the release of IE8 coming this year, the stage is set for all that to
change. IE8 will be the last of the major browsers to add support for CSS
tables, which will enable designers to use table-based layout techniques
without misusing HTML table markup." |

History of the browser user-agent string, by Aaron Andersen
"And thus Chrome used WebKit, and pretended to be Safari, and WebKit pre-
tended to be KHTML, and KHTML pretended to be Gecko, and all browsers
pretended to be Mozilla, and Chrome called itself Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U;
Windows NT 5.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/525.13 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/
0.2.149.27 Safari/525.13, and the user agent string was a complete mess,
and near useless, and everyone pretended to be everyone else, and confusion
abounded." |

rhebus.posterous.com - PUT vs POST
"Sometimes, POST is used for update because only part of the resource is
being updated. PUT requires a complete resource; but the client may not
know the full contents of the resource or the client may not wish to send
the full contents of the resource down the wire." |
