r - why is using a usb flash drive on mac horrible...

"using a USB on mac is a pain in the ass, it is very very slow, makes it very
hot, like it hurts to touch it, when i play a audio file it just stops to load and it
takes a minimum of 2 minutes to eject.

none of this happens on Windows"
