r - Storing a memory involves distant parts of the brain
"Neuropsychologist here. I have no idea why you have a bad memory and
certainly can't give you any medical advice. But you should know that most of
my patients complaining of poor memory really don't have memory problems,
well, they technically do but only because their attention is really poor." |

Y! - Fighting early-stage Alzheimer's with intensive lifestyle changes works, study finds
"The lifestyle intervention Ornish created -- which he calls 'eat well, move
more, stress less and love more' -- has been tested before. In 1990, Ornish
showed for the first time in a randomized clinical trial that coronary artery
disease could often be reversed with nothing more than diet, exercise, stress
reduction and social support." |

Y! - Herpes Virus Appears to Hijack The Brain's Immune Cells, And It Could Have Serious Consequences
"Affected cells also showed reduced expression of genes linked to normal brain
maintenance, monitoring, and communication, suggesting a 'redistribution of
microglial identities' that could potentially have detrimental consequences for
brain health.
Given the growing evidence linking HSV-1 to long-term neuroinflammatory
phenotypes and Alzheimer's disease pathology, it is critical to explore the
durability of these microglial state transitions" |
