How to search for links and code and tutorials?
One can start with Google or Yahoo! or one can stay more focused
with dev places like programming forums or blogs. Good place would be
some yellow pages for development boards. This listing seems kind of
cool: Directory of Computers Forums and Message Boards. |

Searching for some code: Koders.com
"Koders.com is the leading search engine for open source code. Our
source code optimized search engine provides developers with an easy-to-
use interface to search for source code examples and discover new open
source projects which can be leveraged in their applications."
Slashdot: Searchable C/C++ DB surpasses 275 million lines
"I've been working on a C/C++ source code search database for the past
year. It has recently surpassed 275 million lines of searchable open source
C/C++ code. The search engine is C/C++ syntax aware so you can search
for specific elements such as functions, macros, classes, comments, etc.
The site is built upon many open source products including: MySQL and
Lucene for the database, CodeWorker to parse the code, PHP and Apache
for the website and GeSHi for syntax highlighting. I'm currently looking for
suggestions on what sort of 'interesting statistics' I could create from 275+
million lines of open source C/C++ code."

Or you can always search programming forums, like:
1. CProgramming.com - C & C++ Programming
"Welcome to the Message Boards at Cprogramming.com. These boards
are intended to help with problems, allow individuals to collaborate on
projects, to answer questions, and generally communicate and debate
things, especially those things having to do with programming in C or C++."
2. DevShed - DevShed Forums
Programming Languages, Web Design, Web Site Management, Databases,
System Administration, Operating Systems and News. One can spend his
entire life browsing this site.
3. CodeGuru: CodeGuru Forums
"There are millions, if not billions, of lines of code in the world. Every
day, more lines of code are being created. CodeGuru is a site where tips,
tricks, and other pieces of useful code can be found. CodeGuru contains
thousands of articles and thousands of pieces of code that you can
download, look at, modify, play with, and use. You can simply plug-&-play,
or you can look at the code and learn.
CodeGuru is about the sharing of code. Almost all of the code that you can
find is presented as part of an article submitted by someone like you.
These articles often explain the code and its use. Most of the people who
contribute code articles to CodeGuru are the same people who found and
used something from here. Sharing works."
4. Game Programming Wiki: C and C++ Game Programming
"The Game Programming Wiki is a repository for game programming
knowledge. It is embodied in the form of a WikiWikiWeb, which comes from
the Hawaiian term for "quick" or "super-fast". Anyone may contribute to
The Game Programming Wiki simply by surfing to a page of interest and
clicking "edit". The Game Programming Wiki is what you make it!"
5. DaniWeb: Software Development Forums
"Forums, Tutorials & Blogs - DaniWeb is an exciting community of
112,272 members interested in all different aspects of the Information
Technology industry."
6. DevX Forums: DevX Developer Forum C/C++
C++, .Net, Java, etc.
7. Microsoft: MSDN Forums
"Fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get
fooled again!" How come there is not a single lean & mean Win32
forum on msdn?
8. Programmers Heaven: Windows programming and COM/DCOM programming
Programmers Heaven Site News, Developer News - latest press releases,
product announcements and news from the developer community,
Messageboards, User-posted Articles and more...
*** Turns out there is pure Win32 forum on msdn: Windows SDK forum
"Discuss Windows Vista SDK Documentation, Samples and Tools."

QAIX - Does it have anything to do with AIX? There are blogs and forums
and all kinds of related & unrelated stuff on QAIX. There are horoscopes
too. For Taurus on Oct 2 it says: "Your personal life will light up. This is a
successful time for you but take time to enjoy life so that you can fully
appreciate the situation. You will be able to show what you know. Think
before you take important decisions."
Well, exploring QAIX seem to be real fun: Home, Blogs, C/C++ Programming
Forum, Apache HTTP Server, Web Design, .Net Development, XML Development
Forum, few database development forums etc. |

Rate your Employer: Coderific
Employer Ratings for Coders, by Coders
Have you ever worked for a company that really understood software
development? Neither have we. During the typical interview process, you
learn very little about whether a potential employer is any good. Only
after slinging code at a new job for several weeks do you realize
that "fast-paced work environment" really means, "If you're fast, you can
finish all your work in 80 hours a week." |

Slashdot: Google Unveils Code Search
"Google now has a page that supports source code searching. I hope
they extend it to be more programming-language aware (e.g., search for
identifiers and functions) like the specialist code search sites (Krugle,
Koders, Codase), who probably now have very worried investors. I
don't see any option to search for Cobol. I guess there is not a lot of
Cobol source available on the Internet, even although there is supposed
to be more Cobol source in existence than any other language (perhaps
that statement is not true in the noughties)." |

One Wiki: The Codepedia
"The CodePedia is an open system of content on programming and
other computer related topics. Anyone can use the information here, and
anyone can contribute what they know!"
Other Wiki: Wiki for Windows Programming
"This book is an attempt to be a comprehensive source for any developer
who is interested in programming for the Windows platform. This book will
start its discussion at the lowest level, with the Win32 API (C and VB Classic)
and MFC (C++). Beyond these basic sections, we will discuss COM, and
the creation of ActiveX modules from a variety of languages."

technology site domains in a flat file and pasted it into Google Co-op’s

many projects implicitly shared to public by people who just want to

Below are some of the examples which I find github search code is handy for." |
